Awesome writer of this Blog
38, Pennsylvania When I travel for a race I never sleep very well and I just don't like it. I much rather sleep in my own bed the night before. I still don't sleep well, but it's a little better.
In 9th grade, I was a cheerleader, but I really wanted to be on the track team. I actually wasn't a bad runner back then. Not good, but not horrible either. I also wanted to do the long jump. Can you imagine? Anyway, I much rather have been on the track team then be a cheerleader now looking back. I would definitely tell my 15 year old self to skip cheerleading.
My running hero is more than just a runner, but it is Chrissie Wellington. Never has someone DOMINATED something so masterfully before. She's amazing!
Last year, running the San Antonio Marathon was a HUGE disappointment. I had trained beautifully (so I thought), but the race day weather was not kind and I wound up having a pretty crappy race.
I don't mind running in pretty much any weather. I can do cold, I can do hot (although I hate it) but I just can not tolerate cold and rain together. It's probably my only deal breaker weather.
I've run a few miles since the run anyway marathon, but nothing significant really. I've skipped two weeks of running on the weekend altogether. I'm not worried about it and I honestly think my body is thanking me.
Canceling the New York City Marathon was definitely the right thing and should have been done a LOT, LOT sooner. Ridic!
If I don't run for a day or two I don't care. haha Didn't you know I don't love running!
I've never run a marathon and really felt luck it was the best I could do. There was always something that prevented it from being the perfect run. I hope one day I'll get my "perfect" marathon.
You know you're a running when you say things like, "just 10 miles".
