I plan on using aquaphor on noah's chapped fingers because he keeps chewing on them. I also use it regularly after baths on some dry patches of skin on his legs and trunk! its also fantastic for use like you said when cycling...and or running!

I'm still finishing up my Outer Banks posts. I think I have 3 more and that will be it. What? I took a lot of pics. Can you blame me? I didn't think so.
So Tuesday I scheduled a Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) lesson for the kids. When I very first asked them about it months ago, they were all excited, but as time went on they slowly all said they didn't really want to do it.
Well being the nice mean mom that I am, I let them chicken out made them get their asses out there. I knew they'd have fun once they were out there and I had already paid for it. So there was no way I was letting them out of it.
When I signed them up, I knew they would be doing it on the sound in calm water. I envisioned us standing on the beach watching them. I mean I've been on the sound before, that was entirely possible. As it turned out they were doing SUP on the inlet leading out to the sound. Even calmer, but pretty secluded. I wouldn't be able to see them. What?
Once again, we had paid, so they were going.
The instructor had them start off on their knees until they made it under the highway overpass. So we watched them as they got adjusted and made their way.
I felt kind of bad for Jack. I told him under no circumstances was he allowed to cry.
I could tell he was holding back and also pretending to be having fun so he didn't get in "trouble".
They all got the hang of the "on the knees" thing pretty quickly and made their way under the underpass.
George and I quickly run up on the highway to stand on the bridge and see what we could see.
The paddled out and then you could tell he told them all to stand up.
They did....
... just like that. Some lesson! hahaha
They went into a little alcove for awhile and we couldn't see them at all. Apparently Jack felt a little uneasy standing up and went back down to his knees. When they finally came out Nicholas seemed like an old pro.
George and called out to Jack and told him to stand up.
I thought he was going to shake his head no, but he tried.
He looked so little out there on that big huge board with the big oar paddling himself through the inlet.
I was really proud of him for conquering his fear.
And finally getting it!
Ella appeared to have these long legs out there. She looked like your typical California girl in her Keen sandals and her bikini rocking the paddle board.
She might not have been as graceful as Nicholas.
But she got the job done.
And did so looking awfully darn cute.
I know the kids were scared in the beginning, but I'm so glad I "made" them do this.
In the end the really did have a great time. Jack tried to deny it, but I know he was fibbing.
As a treat afterwards, we stopped for some custard and probably the best chocolate milkshake I've ever had in my life.
Later on that evening, I actually got dressed and put on make up for the first time in 4 days and we went out to dinner. My mom snapped these pics of us and we were making fun of her the whole time for trying out different angles.
Turns out, she knew what she was doing because this is my favorite picture from the trip.
I even convinced Granny to be in a pic.
I didn't have to convince Ella.
And took a few group shots of the kids.
When it was over Nicholas asked why he didn't get to have a solo shoot. I told him to go for it.
I love these pictures of him because I captured a rare moment he doesn't usually share with everyone (just his family). Nicholas really is funny and outgoing, he just doesn't show it very much.
Every year we go to Awful Aurther's for Dinner and I'm beginning to wonder why. I think it's called awful for a reason.
I guess it's just hard to give up tradition. The kids had looked at old pictures from our previous trips and they wanted to "recreate" some photos. Here's our attempts.

It's sad to look at how much my kids have grown in just a short amount of time. I hope we can recreate for many years to come!
