George is out of town so the kids and I decided to do something fun tonight with Tracey and her family. No it wasn't on the Summer Bucket List, but it totally should have been. We rode the Monongahela Incline.
If you're not a Pittsburgher, then you probably have no idea what an incline is. Well think of it as a trolley car on a pulley track going up a VERY LARGE hill.
I haven't ridden the incline in a really long time. I believe I took Nicholas once when he was very little, but I haven't been since then. Ella and Jack have certainly never been.
All the kids were so excited and couldn't wait to see the views (from the trolley and the top). It's a little scary to look out and down and see how high up you're moving.
It was so hot today and apparently hazy. The views weren't as pretty as I hoped.
Nevertheless we all enjoyed taking in the view because really this is the very BEST view of Pittsburgh.
There's actually another incline in Pittsburgh a little further down (The Duquesne Incline) and I think the views there are better, but this was pretty cool too.
I'm so glad Tracey invited us along to do this with her. It's always something I'm meaning to do with the kids and never make the time to do. So yeah, I'll add it to the bucket list just so I can cross it off.
