I had such a FUN weekend. Like the best time I've had in a long time. I laughed til I peed cried and laughed some more.
This weekend was mom's weekend at my niece's college (Ohio University) so my sister and I left Friday afternoon to set out on our adventure. My sister is clearly organized (and a dork), but she did have everything planned out so I overlooked her manilla folder.
She booked us at Sand Ridge Bed and Breakfast. I have to admit, we were both a little apprehensive about staying at Sand Ridge. My sister booked us there because, by the time she knew that Mother's Weekend even existed (September of 2012), all the local hotels were already booked.
My sister booked us at Sand Ridge, but we were kind of going into it not expecting too much, not because of anything specific, but just because you never know about "these things". BOY WERE WE WRONG.
Our B&B was a beautifully renovated farm house and it was adorable! It was clean and completely charming. We had worried for nothing. The owner Connie, was so accommodating and VERY sweet. I really felt like I was staying at friend's house rather than a B&B.
Trust me when I tell you I don't do "other people's stuff". I like living in a NEW house that no one has ever lived in. I don't walk around in hotels unless I have shoes on, but I just felt AT HOME here. So, if you're ever in the Athens, Ohio area, I highly recommend Sand Ridge B&B!
As much as I love the accommodations, let's face it... we all know I'm about the FOOD. Um yes! Home run there too. I wanted Connie to come live with me and be my mom! She declined. Humph.
This weekend wasn't all about the B&B, however, it was about us moms spending time with our girl, Abbey and my pretend daughter for the weekend, Michelle.
I'll start at the beginning. We were half way to Athens (about 3.5 hours from Pittsburgh) and my sister realized she left her "going out" shirts at home hanging in her closet. You have to understand, Athens is a VERY small town. The likelihood of finding anything to wear was slim. With a quick google search, we headed to the ONE place that had the chance of finding anything. Score! Matching shirts.
Ok fine, Amy didn't buy it, but I did. Yay for mom going out clothes (of which I had NONE!). Yoga pants yes, going out clothes, NO!
We took the girls out to dinner first and enjoyed a good meal. We were properly fueled and ready to go out.

We had so much fun y'all. I don't get out much, but when I do, I usually over do it. This time was no exception. We started off nice.
And ended up crazy.
I wish I could fill you in on all the in between, but what happens at OU mom's weekend stays at OU mom's weekend. Ok not really, but there are embarrassing stories involving
Tune in tomorrow for Part Two to hear about our Zip Line adventure, which was definitely in the top 5 coolest things I've ever done!
