They don't even check at this age, so I'm pretty confident that he's safe. However, when it comes to baseball, I'm not so sure.
I mean seriously the boy doesn't even wear a cup. So when the people at Sports Guard contacted me and asked if I wanted to sample their products I was pretty excited.
Here's some information directly from the Sports Guard website:
SportsGuard™ is dedicated to providing young athletes with protection for sports using the latest, most innovative technologies with premium materials for maximum comfort and performance at a price parents can afford. The materials are safe for young athletes, latex and lead free, and its Coolplus Fiber allows for ventilation, wicking and breathability. While I have never had any problems with Nicholas getting hit in a baseball game, I've seen other players take some significant hits. Since we're in the middle of baseball seasons (fall ball hasn't started yet), I haven't had the chance to use the sample products Sports Guard has sent me. I did, however, want to get the word out to all of you starting fall ball so you can check out the items Sports Guard offers.
I'm particularly excited to try the Stealth Guard Heart Protector.
These are easily attached to your shirt via iron on velcro. I doubt Nicholas will even notice that it's there.
I also received the Head Guard that is inserted in the baseball cap and the X Grip which can be used on his bat or on a hockey stick. You can find out all about Sports Guards and their products on their website here.
While I hope he'll never really need it, I know I'll thank myself for using it if he does.
P.S. Check out my interview on SkinnyMom here!
