I actually slept in on Mother's Day and woke up to three little kids VERY eager to give me their presents. Even though I was still in my jammies (aren't they sexy) I allowed a present/photo sesh.
Jack was up first and sat proudly staring at me as I read the card he made. He was so proud and excited to give me his gift.
George said Jack was hell bent on getting me a necklace so he took him to TJ Maxx and let him pick out something. George was afraid I wouldn't like it, but I really did love it. It's hard to see in the picture but it's orange and brown beads. I think it will look great with my cowboy boots.
I thanked Jack and gave him a hug and he said exasperated, "I'm glad you liked it, but I really wanted to buy it at Walmart and Daddy wouldn't take me." He was totally miffed.
Ella was up next and just as eager to give me her card and gift.
She bought me a pair of running shorts and a workout tank. Notice the pink and black. Do you think she knows my colors? Turns out the tank was a small (apparently it was on a medium hanger) and it's a little too snug over "the girls". The shorts are also SUPER short and they don't have anything built in underneath. I feel badly, but I might have to return everything she bought me.
I hope she understands and isn't mad. She'll probably never even notice. She is smarter than I usually give her credit for so I probably should just take her with me and let her pick something else out.
Nicholas was up next and he was SUPER excited to give me his gift. George said each child knew exactly what they wanted to get me and Nicholas was no exception.
He went to the exercise section of TJ Maxx and got me two kettle bells. They're going to be awesome for driveway workouts (aka mini bootcamp) that I've been doing with my friends.
I love that he was so proud of what he picked out. He just knew I would love it, and I did!
George picked me out an awesome card and got me some Sweaty Bands (which haven't arrived yet hahaha). He also took all my Tiffany Jewelry to the store to have it polished. I've been asking him to do that for a REALLY LONG time and reminded him that it's all I REALLY wanted to do for Mother's Day. He had no idea it would set him back $120. Sorry George!
I had a very relaxing day planting some flowers in my driveway pots, running 10 miles with my friend Mary, reading under a blanket on the back patio, taking a nap, and eating a home cooked meal cooked by George! It was a perfectly relaxing day and just what I wanted.
It was a Happy Mother's Day indeed.
