Of course this was inspired by Pinterest and this pin.
Here's a tutorial.
How to Make a Baseball Bracelet
What you will need:
Baseballs
Exacto Knife (or the like)
Scissors
Jump rings and closures (optional)
Start with your baseball.
Carefully Using your Exacto knife cut along both sides of the red stitching all the way around the ball.
Once you've made the cut peel away the the red stitching and remaining part of the ball. Your ball should look like this.
All you need now is the red stitching.
Depending on what length bracelet you want (adult or child) cut the length of the stitches that you will need. We were making ours for children so I used about 8 inches.
Carefully pull out about 4 of the stitches on each end.
And trim the white leather so it's clean, being careful not to cut the red stitches.
You could theoretically be done at this point if you'd like to just tie the bracelet on to your wrist, but we wanted to make ones that the boys could easily remove. We used jump rings and closures as shown below. We found these in the jewelry making section of Hobby Lobby.
Hopefully you can see them a little better in this picture.
Next tie the "female" side to one end.
And the "male" side to the opposite end. I used three knots to hold the closures in place. (I pray they stay put).
And there you have it. It's that easy and super cute (even on me)!
Like I said, these are for the boys on Nicholas' baseball team and we plan to give them to them at the end of season party.
We attached a little tag that said, "The saddest day of the year, is the day baseball season ends."
It was a sad day indeed!
