I wasn't going to bake at all this year. You know, I'm not in my own home, don't have my cookie cutters, my this or my that. Jami helped light a fire and bought me some cookie cutters and encouraged me to make a few things. Slowly but surely, all our efforts added up to quite a variety of goodies.
Today we set out to do the traditional cut out cookies. Daddy ices and the kids decorate.
Thankfully I did take the time to do it because it always makes the kids so happy.
They have lots of fun.
And it's fun torturing George too. Ha!
They took their time and didn't overdo it on the toppings and I think they turned out nice.
By the time it was all said and done this season, we had a nice little variety of cookies to share and delivered them to three of Jami's neighbor friends on our homemade plates. The kids took so much pride in their plates and had fun delivering them.
So yes, I'm glad I wasn't a scrooge and took the time to make some Christmas cookies again this year. The only problem is, I can't stop eating them.
I'm a little behind on my Elf on the Shelf reporting. If you're following along in the Adventures of the Elf on the Shelf: Lulu (which I'm updating everyday so it will become a full list of all Lulu's adventures... click the link to see ALL the ideas) then here is what she was up to the past couple of days.
Lulu acting a little modest while her skirt was drying in the dryer |
Lulu decided to make funny faces on everyone's pictures giving me cat whiskers, George devil horns, Jack an afro, Nicholas a beard and Ella a halo. |
Lulu playing pool. (Don't have a pool? Try your elf playing ANY game) |
Lulu left the kids a Christmas present from her. Scratch off Lottery ticket. |
